Gogo no Koucha [Commercials]

"Gogo no Koucha" is an ice tea drink by the "Kirin" Company

Aya has made numerous commercials for them from 2003-2007, a lot of them with jingles (aside from being the starting point for "Ki Ga Tsukeba Anata")

New gogo no koucha

Ah!
This is my iced tea / I love iced tea / Won't you love me?

* Similar to the "Hot Summer" version below Aya scats Gibberish all the way here.
The final line is a pretty clever triple-meaning word-play (Ice = (aisu=love) or (ice), Tea = (-te = ending word for asking favors) or (tea).

Gogo no koucha by Kirin

* Aya sings in French by saying simple French phrases. It probably means 'Pastries goes very well with tea. With small croissant and a bit of milk is all I need to be happy. Mmm, I love it! (scatting in the third line) Won’t you try?'

Housewife version:

* The lines are all spoken over Aya singing "Na na na na" :-)

So you gave him your heart too, just as I gave mine to you

So you lie awake just singin' the blues all night - gulp, gulp
So you think that love's a barrel of (dynamite)...

Bottoms up! In the afternoon.

Gogo no koucha by Kirin

World's best!

* Aya sings 'Goody Goody', a song released by Benny Goodman, written by Matty Melneck and Johnny Mercer (songs breaks off in the sixth line)
But instead of the original 'Goody-goody', the lyrics are changed to 'gubi gubi' (an onomatopoeia for gulping liquid, in this case, drinking gogo no koucha :-)

Reizouko version:

Kanji

Muchacha nonjacha

Romaji

Translation

Let's dance!
A little bit, a little bit, I really want, I really want,
It's on my mind.
I'm a girl who loves cha-cha
I'm a girl who loves drinking tea

Summertime afternoon tea - Iced tea

Yeah!
Love me!

* As in the "French" version Aya sings in Spanish by saying one simple Spanish phrase after another. The commercial is for summertime, and upbeat latin beat goes well with the season.
There are several word-plays: The Spanish endings '-cha' or "cha-cha' sound like the Japanese word for tea.
'nonjatta' (=I finished drinking) but rhyming with the word ‘cha’(=tea) to keep the series of rhymes going.
'aishite' (love me) and 'aishi te' (te=tea). So she isn't directly asking the viewers to love her, but more like 'I love my tea. Now what do you think about me?' sort of an indirect, coy way of asking for affection :-)

Hot Summer version:

Translation

Gogo no koucha by Kirin

Enjoy the sound of summer as you taste!

* Aya's too exhausted from the heat to sing, and one of the symptoms of heat exhaustion is slurred speech. That's why she's scatting lazily and in gibberish. Atsui (hot) is sometimes pronounced 'achi-', specially when the temperature is too hot to even bother speaking properly. 'achi' sounds very much like 'tea', so this is another word-play.

Anniversary Special version:
