Ge- Ge- Ge-ge-ge and ge
At morning in the bed, zzz-zzz-zzz
Oh, what fun! Oh, what fun!
Monsters don't have school--and tests, no, not one!
Ge- Ge- Ge-ge-ge and ge
Let's sing, everyone: Ge-ge-ge and ge

Ge- Ge- Ge-ge-ge and ge
At daytime it's a carefree stroll
Oh, what fun! Oh, what fun!
Monsters don't have offices--and jobs, no, not one!
Ge- Ge- Ge-ge-ge and ge
Let's sing, everyone: Ge-ge-ge and ge

Ge- Ge- Ge-ge-ge and ge
At night, we play sports in the graveyard
Oh, what fun! Oh, what fun!
Monsters never die--and sickness, no, not one!
Ge- Ge- Ge-ge-ge and ge
Let's sing, everyone: Ge-ge-ge and ge
Let's sing, everyone: Ge-ge-ge and ge
Let's sing, everyone: Ge-ge-ge and ge

* The author based this novel sound-word on his own name, "Shigeru", and the way he mispronounced it as "Gegeru" as a toddler.
The anime opening seems to have frogs singing it, and it's reminiscent of the Japane sound-word for "ribbit", "gero-gero".
